During the first six months of the project, Nanochannels has so far completed these stages:
– Review of previous EC-funded public engagement projects. The Institute of Nanotechnology looked into the methods and outcomes of this work and elaborated a series of useful recommendations for Nanochannels.
– Preparation of the Editorial Plan for the whole project. The Editorial Board is now ready to now deal with all kinds of materials coming through the channels involved, including the students’ own editorial contributions. – The teacher’s training kit and two virtual training sessions by EUN are being prepared – they will be ready the beginning of the school year. EUN has already recruited 20 schools from all over Europe and beyond, from Spain to Turkey, to be engaged in this project.
– The Guardian’s and El Mundo’s microsites have been launched;
– A research by ORT for the social media campaign is in preparation;
– The project’s web portal has been launched and will host all the materials uploaded to the various channels.
